Kazakhstan aims to launch its own rocket into space.

Kazakhstan aims to launch a domestically produced carrier rocket into space by 2025. This was announced by the Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry, Jaslan Madiyev, during a Senate meeting.

The Minister emphasized that the domestic carrier rocket "envisions the creation of its own launch vehicle" to achieve independent access to space. Currently, materials and components for the carrier rocket are being developed, and a prototype of hybrid solid rocket fuel has been created.

"The launch of a meteorological rocket is scheduled for 2025, and the testing of an ultra-light rocket is planned for 2030," Madiyev stated.

Additionally, Madiyev reported that work on the Kazakh rocket complex project "Baiterek" has resumed. The first launch of the "Soyuz-5" carrier rocket is scheduled for 2025, with commercial launches expected to begin in 2028 after three years of test launches.

Furthermore, the head of the department mentioned that a contract has already been signed for the creation of three medium-resolution Earth remote sensing satellites, which are planned to be launched in 2027.

"A replacement for the KazSat-3 communication satellite is planned by 2029 to ensure continuous service for satellite communication networks and TV broadcasting. Preliminary project works are underway, and the contract for the satellite's creation is scheduled to be signed in 2025," the Minister added.
