The senators have approved, in the second reading, a bill that amends the law "On State Secrets." The document is now awaiting the signature of the head of state, reports the correspondent of IA "NewTimes.kz."

This provision has been incorporated into the Law "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan Regarding the State Educational Savings System, and the Elimination of Excessive Legislative Regulation in the Areas of Information, Public Development, Culture, and Archival Affairs."

"The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan 'On State Secrets' not only includes information related to state secrets in the fields of intelligence, counterintelligence, operational search, and other activities concerning the organization, forces, means, and methods of ensuring the safety of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and their family members, as well as the health status and personal life of the President, but it also adds similar provisions regarding former Presidents of the Republic of Kazakhstan and their families," the relevant Senate committee concluded.
