President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with the Chairwoman of the Federation Council of Russia, Valentina Matviyenko, as reported by IA "NewTimes.kz" referencing Akorda.
Tokayev emphasized that the visit of the head of the Russian Federation Council is another significant event not only in terms of strengthening inter-parliamentary ties but also in further expanding the entire spectrum of Kazakhstan-Russia multifaceted strategic partnership.
“The relations between our states are developing positively. Recently, President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin visited our country on a state visit. This has given a serious impetus to the further development of strategic partnership and alliance between our nations. I look to the future of our cooperation with great optimism,” said the president.
According to Tokayev, inter-parliamentary diplomacy plays an important role in all these processes. He stressed that the deputies make a significant contribution to advancing mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

Matviyenko, for her part, expressed gratitude to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the meeting and noted that she was very pleased to visit Kazakhstan at the head of a representative parliamentary delegation.
She conveyed warm greetings from President of Russia Vladimir Putin, who highly values the outcomes of his recent visit to Astana.
“The visit was indeed very productive and successful. The main thing is that our cooperation, which is gaining momentum, is mutually beneficial and based on mutual respect. Thanks to the efforts of the heads of state of Kazakhstan and Russia, bilateral relations have reached an unprecedented level. In whatever sphere we consider: mutual trade turnover, investments, major projects in industry, energy, and cooperation in agriculture, these are real examples of strong strategic partnership and alliance between our states,” emphasized Valentina Matviyenko.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed relevant issues of trade, economic, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.
