Three Russian citizens have been fined and expelled from the country for holding dual citizenship.

Upon the arrival of the flight “Moscow-Karaganda,” three passengers were identified and detained by the airport police department in collaboration with the border service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan for violating the citizenship laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as reported by IA “NewTimes.kz” citing Polisia.kz.

The individuals were citizens of the Russian Federation aged 23, 40, and 48.

Transport police filed administrative protocols against the offenders for failing to report within the timeframes established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan regarding their acquisition of foreign citizenship. The materials have been forwarded to the specialized interdistrict court for administrative offenses in the city of Karaganda.

“According to the court's decision, the foreign nationals have been subjected to various administrative penalties, including a fine of 200 MRP (738,400 tenge) and expulsion from the country, along with a five-year entry ban to the Republic of Kazakhstan,” the official statement reads.

Since the beginning of the year, the transport police department has held 3,629 foreigners accountable for violating the migration laws of Kazakhstan, with 1,077 of them expelled from our country based on court rulings. Additionally, 412 individuals with dual citizenship have been identified, and appropriate measures have also been taken regarding them.

It is worth noting that a debtor of alimony, owing 44 million tenge, left the country after changing citizenship.

Earlier, the National Security Committee detained individuals with dual citizenship at the border of Kazakhstan.
