Rescuers freed a Russian man trapped in snow.

Due to deteriorating weather conditions characterized by heavy snowfall and blizzards, a passenger vehicle heading to the village of Ushbas in the Sarysu district of the Zhambyl region got stuck in a snowdrift and was unable to free itself, reports IA "NewTimes.kz," citing the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Rescue teams from the Ministry managed to tow the vehicle to a cleared section of the road and escorted it to the nearest settlement using heavy machinery.

The driver of the vehicle is a citizen of the Russian Federation. The rescued individual expressed gratitude to the Kazakhstani rescuers.

As a reminder, rescuers conducted a special operation to save the lost Grandfather Frost and Snow Maiden.

Earlier, in the Zhetysu region, rescuers freed another 26 people from snow captivity.

Previously, truck drivers from several countries had become trapped in snow drifts in the Zhetysu region. A total of 30 trucks and one passenger vehicle were caught in a snow drift on the Yrgayty segment of the Usharal-Dostyk highway. The area was hit by a fierce blizzard and heavy snowfall.

Additionally, it was reported that a truck overturned on its trailer on the Almaty – Khorgos highway.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan explained how they penalize those who venture onto closed roads.
