Fishermen were rescued from a snowdrift in the Kostanay region.

Rescuers from the Emergency Situations Department of the Kostanay region aided two men who were unable to escape from a snowdrift due to inclement weather and poor visibility, reports IA "NewTimes.kz".

Details were provided by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The rescue operation took place early in the morning near the village of Karasu, close to Lake Koibagar, where a car carrying the two men got stuck in a snowbank. Strong winds and low temperatures worsened the situation, posing a real threat to their lives. Utilizing special equipment, the rescuers evacuated the vehicle from the snowdrift and transported the fishermen to a safe location. They did not require medical assistance.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan once again reminded residents of the importance of exercising extreme caution when traveling outside the city during the winter season.
