In the capital, police have seized unlicensed pyrotechnics, reports IA "NewTimes.kz".

According to the city's police department, during the New Year holidays, law enforcement, in cooperation with the emergency services, is conducting an operational prevention event called "Pyrotechnics" aimed at removing uncertified pyrotechnic products from circulation.

Daily raids are carried out in markets and shopping and entertainment centers. During the operational prevention measures, 81 cases of illegal pyrotechnics sales were identified, and 1,914 pyrotechnic items were seized from circulation. Additionally, 81 individuals were held administratively accountable for illegal trade in goods and other items.

“The sale of pyrotechnic products outside of containers and by individuals without the appropriate license and permission for storing pyrotechnics from open pavilions, vehicles, tents, from hand to hand, and in passageways is strictly prohibited,” the agency emphasizes.

Previously, seven children were hospitalized due to firecrackers in Almaty.
