Police in East Kazakhstan fulfilled the dream of 100-year-old veteran Kurmat Rakhimov.

The East Kazakhstan Police Department organized a memorable trip for the 100-year-old veteran Kurmat Rakhimov, fulfilling his long-held dream of seeing the new Kurchum Bridge, as reported by IA "NewTimes.kz" citing Polisia.kz.

Under the leadership of the head of the East Kazakhstan police department, a trip was arranged for the veteran of the Great Patriotic War and internal affairs, Kurmat Rakhimovich, to his native Kurchum district. The new bridge over the Irtysh River, constructed this year, has become a symbol of the long-awaited development of the region, and the veteran, a native of Kurchum, was eager to see this significant structure in person.

The hero was greeted with genuine respect and warmth. Employees of the Kurchum police department, along with local residents, prepared a festive welcome featuring traditional songs and shashlik. The veteran was deeply touched by the attention.

“I have dreamed all my life of seeing how my homeland changes. This bridge is the embodiment of progress and hope. I am proud to witness this historical moment,” remarked the veteran.

Equally special for the elder was a visit to the cadet class "Zhas Sakshy," which was opened in his honor. The students warmly welcomed the guest, and Kurmat Rakhimovich encouraged the youth to strive for achievements and be worthy citizens of their country.

“You are the future of our homeland. Serve it with honor and dignity,” emphasized the veteran in his speech.

As a token of gratitude, he presented the students with badges inscribed with "Kurmat Rakhimov – Zhas Sakshy," symbolizing the continuity of generations and the importance of patriotism. The veteran also gifted the children memorable presents and New Year surprises.

“We take pride in the opportunity to fulfill the dream of our esteemed elder. This is not only a manifestation of respect for the veteran but also an important lesson for the youth. We must remember our past and honor the achievements of our ancestors,” noted the deputy head of the East Kazakhstan police department, Colonel Serik Manapov.

It is worth mentioning that a solemn ceremony took place at the Seoul City Hall to confer the title of "Honorary Citizen of Seoul." This year, this prestigious award was bestowed upon a citizen of Kazakhstan – Ruslan Kairambaev, an employee of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Korea.
