According to the students, they were repeatedly beaten, subjected to electric shocks, and threatened with a knife. The mother of one of the victims, Nurgul Yespusinova, shared the incident on social media. She specified that one of the most recent incidents occurred on December 4. Since that day, her son still bears signs of the abuse on his body.
"Upon discovering the bruises, I went to the school to clarify the circumstances of their occurrence, but neither the principal nor the teacher was present. After some time, I learned that my son had been expelled from school," she stated.
She mentioned that she first noticed her son's strange reluctance to attend school back in October.
"Parents were told that their children could stay overnight at school, but my child did not want to stay there. As for his expulsion, the supposed reason was that he was using nasvay. A bag containing the substance was allegedly found in his backpack, although there are no witnesses to this. I was unaware of the investigation regarding this case at the meeting; moreover, the decision to expel him was made without parental involvement. To prove his innocence, my son underwent tests. The results showed that there were no substances in his body. I informed the class teacher of this fact. However, he was still expelled. All my attempts to clarify the situation have been in vain: I am constantly told that the principal is on a business trip. During this time, my child has not been attending school, and I've received two letters from the school requesting to collect his documents. But I have no intention of doing so, as my child is innocent," the woman recounted.
She filed a complaint with the police and the education department. The mother also claims that students at the school are subjected to electric shocks.
The press service of the regional education department commented that there is an agreement between the institution and the parents at the specialized school-lyceum-internat "Sarmat" in the Atyrau region.
"The mentioned student has repeatedly violated discipline. Parents were warned about this. The child was placed on internal school monitoring. In September 2024, after another disciplinary violation, the boy was not expelled, but a warning was issued. In December, disciplinary violations recurred, after which the parents were called to the school, but they did not attend. On December 9, based on the decision of the pedagogical council, the child was expelled from school," the press service of the regional education department stated.
Currently, investigative actions are being conducted based on the parents' complaint. The education department is analyzing the organization of the educational and upbringing process. The student will receive psychological support.
