The development of trade was the focal point of the meeting between the Minister of Trade and Integration, Arman Shakkaliev, and the UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, held at the National Pavilion of Kazakhstan during EXPO-2020 in Dubai.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Trade, significant attention during the meeting was given to products made in Kazakhstan, which are experiencing increasing demand in the UAE market. Arman Shakkaliev emphasized Kazakhstan's readiness to supply organic agricultural products, including chilled lamb, which has already gained recognition in the UAE. Additionally, Kazakhstan is prepared to export high-quality flour, sunflower oil, confectionery products, and dairy goods.
"In the first 10 months of 2024, lamb exports amounted to 13.3 thousand tons, totaling $45.3 million. Compared to the same period last year, volumes have doubled, and export revenue has increased by 64%," noted Arman Shakkaliev.
The minister also highlighted that certification of products according to halal standards is actively developing in Kazakhstan. Since 2014, more than 1,800 domestic and foreign companies have received certification.
As part of the meeting, a tasting of Kazakhstani products was organized, including lamb, confectionery, and apples. The quality and taste of the products received high praise from the guests.
