It has been reported that the attack was carried out by two daughters of a pensioner, to whom an ambulance was called. The medical staff attempted to revive the patient without success. When they declared her dead, the relatives assaulted them. The most affected was a 24-year-old paramedic.
"Recently, we encountered another shocking incident of assault on paramedics from the ambulance team in Kostanay. The young emergency service employee Anel Baymurzina, who responded to the call, herself ended up in the hospital with multiple injuries as a result of the beating. I want to express my personal support to Anel Baymurzina's family, wish her a speedy recovery, and say that we will not let this case go unnoticed," – wrote the minister on social media.
She noted that emergency medical workers perform their duties under conditions of risk and high stress. They save lives every day, providing assistance in the most challenging and dangerous situations.
Akmaral Alnazarova cited statistics from local executive bodies, indicating that from 2019 to 2023, 158 medical workers were injured while on duty in Kazakhstan. Of these, 46 in 2022, 80 in 2023, and nine cases of assaults were recorded in 2024.
"In this regard, with the support of deputies, we have initiated the introduction of criminal liability for violent acts against medical workers committed during the performance of their official duties. Such crimes should receive a just measure of punishment, up to deprivation of liberty and condemnation by society as a whole. Thus, we must send a clear signal: violence against medical workers is unacceptable and will be punished," – emphasized the head of the Ministry of Health.
According to her, the Ministry of Health plans to recognize the selflessness and courage of medical heroes who risk their own lives to save others.
"Their dedication to their profession deserves recognition in society and should serve as an example for all of us," – noted the minister.
