KAZAKHSTAN TODAY - The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TCITR) continues to show steady growth, evidenced by an increase in capacity to 6 million tons per year, including 100,000 TEUs of container shipments. Over the 11 months of 2024, cargo transport volume rose by 63%, reaching 4.1 million tons, while container transport surged by 2.6 times, totaling 50,500 TEUs. This information was reported by the press service of the government .
These figures indicate significant growth for the route," the government noted.
In 2024, a coordination center for the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor was launched, aimed at developing infrastructure and expanding the route's functionality.
The new platform will work on enhancing the competitiveness of the TCITR, enabling delivery times between Europe and Asia to be reduced to 15 days. Key countries and companies such as Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, China, and many others are actively involved in the project, highlighting its importance for global trade. Special attention is being given to modernizing infrastructure to increase capacity and improve service quality," the press service reported.
