KAZAKHSTAN TODAY - The Akim of the Zhetisu region, Beibit Isabaev, announced during Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's visit to the region that since the beginning of the year, 327.1 billion tenge has been invested in the region's economy, reflecting a growth of 1.3 times, reports Akorda.
Beibit Isabaev noted that for the years 2024-2030, an investment portfolio has been formed consisting of 190 projects with a total value of 3.5 trillion tenge, which will create over 11,800 jobs. This year, 48 projects are being implemented with a total investment of 54.9 billion tenge.
According to the akim, the gross regional product in the first half of the year amounted to 781 billion tenge, with a growth of 6.2%.
By the end of the year, this indicator is expected to reach 7.1%. The short-term economic indicator for the first ten months stood at 112.8%. Positive dynamics are observed in agriculture. Significant growth in production volumes has been noted in industrial production, trade, and construction. This year, 247.6 thousand square meters of housing have been put into operation in the region, which is 4.1% more than last year's figures," the press service informed.
The head of state was also briefed on efforts to attract new investors and enhance the investment appeal of the region. Additionally, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was presented with information on the development of industry in Zhetisu. Currently, 549 enterprises are registered, employing more than 30,000 people. Over the first ten months of this year, the volume of industrial production has increased by 3.9%.

During his visit to the region, Tokayev visited the ASMA INDUSTRIAL battery manufacturing plant located in the "Taldykorgan" industrial zone.
According to the information provided to the head of state, once fully operational, the plant plans to produce 210,000 batteries per year, creating up to 180 jobs. 60% of the produced goods will be exported to CIS and Baltic countries, while 40% will be supplied to the domestic market. It is expected that in the first year after launch, the plant will contribute over 500 million tenge in taxes to the budget.
In a conversation with the workforce, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the crucial role of supporting the manufacturing sector.
For the state to be strong, our regions must be strong first and foremost. We consider it important to transform Kazakhstan into a country with a developed industry. Special attention is given to the Zhetisu region, which holds strategic significance," the president stated.

In total, 3 new schools have been opened in the region this year, two of which were constructed as part of the national project "Comfortable School". Specifically, a school with a capacity of 1200 students has been commissioned in the city of Zharkent in the Panfilov district, as well as a small school in the village of Karatal in the Koksu district. Currently, the construction of 5 schools is ongoing in the region.
