TRADEX 2024 has become a vivid example of Kazakhstan's efforts to strengthen its position as a key trading hub in Central Asia and a primary bridge between Europe and Asia. Almaty, as the largest financial and economic center of the country, is ideally suited for hosting such forums that facilitate business connections and discussions on pressing issues in international trade.
Chairman of the Public Council of the Ministry of National Economy, Darment Sadvakassov, identified trade as the largest sector of the country's economy.
In recent years, external trade has gained significant momentum. As noted by the General Consul of China, Jiang Wei, last year, the trade turnover between China and the five Central Asian countries reached nearly 90 billion USD, with half of that amount attributed to Kazakhstan.
During panel sessions and round tables, experts such as the General Consul of Lithuania, Gvidas Kerušauskas, Vice President of MSB Bankcentercredit – Dmitry Zhilin, President of SMITA Global Megan Su, President of CILT Central Asia, FCILT – Nurlan Igembaev, advisor on transport corridor development Aizhan Beiseeva, regional representative of Kazakh Export Almas Kalkayev, USAID e-commerce expert Alua Korpabayeva, and many others discussed the challenges and prospects of the international trade sector, innovations in trade and logistics, adaptation to market conditions, and operations on electronic platforms.
Within the framework of the Trade and Logistics Council of the Regional Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken" in Almaty, numerous events are held. However, the international trade forum TRADEX is rightly considered the largest and most significant.
One of the standout features of the forum was the launch of trade negotiations and panels, where participants could personally discuss collaboration opportunities and share their proposals. Producers had the chance to establish new contacts while showcasing their products at a special exhibition. Additionally, the forum included thematic master classes, networking, certificate presentations, and a raffle for gift certificates.
