Businesses in Almaty will receive support amounting to 50 billion tenge.

The relevant budget project for 2025-2027 is set to be reviewed at the upcoming session of the Almaty Maslikhat. This information was provided by the press service of the city Maslikhat.

It is worth noting that in 2024, 47.9 billion tenge was allocated for the implementation of the entrepreneurship subsidy tool in Almaty, with 18.1 billion tenge coming from the local budget and 29.8 billion tenge from the republican budget. These funds supported 2,298 ongoing projects, whose subsidy period is still active, as well as approved 875 new projects amounting to 82.8 billion tenge in loans.

The largest number of subsidized projects is concentrated in the transport and storage sectors (27.7%) and industry (25.5%). Additionally, 72% of all projects are financed for investment purposes, including the acquisition of main equipment and business modernization.

Thanks to the subsidies, the final interest rate for entrepreneurs has been reduced to 8%.

The subsidization of loan interest rates remains the most sought-after tool among state support measures, providing enterprises with "affordable" financial resources for expanding or updating their business, thereby increasing competitiveness and product quality.

A unified comprehensive entrepreneurship support program is being implemented within the framework of the state strategy to stimulate business, enhance the competitiveness of domestic producers, and create new opportunities for entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan.

Overall, there has been a steady increase in entrepreneurial activity in Almaty since the beginning of the current year. As of November 1, 2024, the number of active SMEs reached 364.6 thousand (a 7.2% increase since the start of the year). There has also been an increase in the number of enterprises in sectors such as education (+13.6% since the beginning of the year), information and communication (+5.8%), and manufacturing (+5.6%). The output of SMEs in the first half of this year amounted to 10.9 trillion tenge, representing a growth of 22.4%.
